Privacy Policy for MergeReel

This Privacy Policy describes how MergeReel (“the App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) handles your information. MergeReel is a simple tool that merges 2–5 volleyball video clips into one highlight video, with an optional title shown at the start. We have designed the App with a privacy-first approach: everything happens on your device.

1. Summary

We do not collect, transmit, or store any of your personal information on our servers.
We do not have user accounts. No sign-up, no login, no email required.
We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
We do not share your data with any third party.
The video clips you choose, and the merged video you create, stay on your device.
The App works entirely offline once installed.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect or have access to:

Your name, email address, phone number, or any other contact information
Your location
Your device identifiers (IDFA, IDFV, advertising ID)
Usage analytics, crash reports, or behavioral data
Cookies or similar tracking technologies
Your photos, videos, or the merged video you create in the App
Payment or financial information

The App does not communicate with any backend server operated by us or any third party. It functions entirely offline.

3. How the App Uses Your Videos

MergeReel only works with the video clips you choose, and only to create your merged video:

You select 2–5 video clips from your photo library or Files.
The App combines them into a single video entirely on your device. No clip is ever uploaded, transmitted, or shared by us.
During merging, the App may create temporary working files in its own private storage on your device. These temporary files are removed after the merge completes. MergeReel does not keep a permanent library of your videos.
The name you type is used only to draw a title at the start of the merged video; it is not sent anywhere.

4. Photo Library and Files Access

When you add a clip, the App requests permission to access your photo library (or lets you pick a file through the standard iOS Files picker). This permission is used only to let you choose the clips you want to merge. The selected clips are read on your device only and are never uploaded.

You can revoke photo library access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → MergeReel on your device.

5. Saving to Photos

When you tap Save to Photos, the App requests permission to add your finished merged video to your photo library. This permission is used only to save the video you created. The App does not read or browse your existing photos in order to do this.

6. Sharing

The only way a video you create is shared with anyone is if you explicitly choose to share it from your device — for example, by using your device’s share sheet to send it to another person or app. That action is initiated and controlled entirely by you.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

Because all processing happens locally on your device, you are in full control of your data:

Your original clips remain in your photo library or Files exactly as before.
The merged video is saved only where you choose to save it (for example, your Photos app).
Temporary working files created during a merge are removed automatically.
To remove the App entirely, simply uninstall it. We have no servers and therefore no copies of your data to delete on our end.

8. Children’s Privacy

MergeReel is suitable for all ages and rated 4+ in the App Store. The App does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. The App complies with the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) by virtue of collecting no personal information at all.

9. Your Rights Under U.S. State Privacy Laws

Various U.S. state laws (including the California Consumer Privacy Act / CPRA, the Virginia CDPA, and similar laws in Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and other states) give residents certain rights regarding their personal information. Because we do not collect, store, sell, or share any personal information, there is no personal information we hold about you to access, correct, delete, or opt out of. You retain full control over the videos you create directly on your device.

10. International Users

MergeReel is offered globally through the Apple App Store. If you are using the App from outside the United States, please note that the App still operates entirely on your device — no data is transmitted to or processed in any country. The same protections described in this policy apply regardless of where you are located.

11. Security

We rely on the security protections built into iOS, including app sandboxing and the file system protections provided by Apple. Because no data is transmitted off your device, the typical risks associated with cloud storage and data transmission do not apply.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
